Tokyo JET Wikia

Hello everyone,

With a heavy heart, I am announcing my 卒業 from the JET Programme. Over these four years, I have grown and changed along with my fellow JETs. It was a tough beginning with 2 weeks of lockdown due to COVID-19 and the difficulties of restarting programs after the lift of COVID-19 as things slowly started to return to normal.

I started with small one-on-one group orientations and now have helped this past group of 200 arrivals! The best part of this position has been to get to know all of you. But there are also many things I wish I could have done better as a PA if I had more time to answer all 400 of you. I also apologize for my sudden medical leave, which left many of you without a PA. Upon returning, I worked through over 400 emails and tried to catch up on the missed time. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to those of you seeking my help during that time. There were some difficult times when I saw many of you try to overcome challenges that, unfortunately, were not in my power to change. I want to acknowledge these challenges and express my deep empathy towards your experiences.

I hope my interactions at school visits, orientation, and training helped many of you learn about the resources available and how to overcome living in Japan.

As I am leaving partway through the JET programme year, my coJET Christine will take over as the new PA and a new CIR arrives in the Summer. If you have any questions or concerns during this transition, please don't hesitate to contact her or the BoE staff at S0311301@section.metro.tokyo.jp.

Once again, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for sharing these four years with me. Your support and camaraderie have meant a lot to me.

これからは別々の道を歩むわけですが、それぞれの道でともに飛躍できればと思います。

4年間本当にありがとうございました。
