Prefectural Advisors (PAs) provide support to JET participants and contracting organizations.
In Tokyo, there are four PAs to assist the Tokyo Board of Education, the Musashimuriyama Board of Education, and the Private School Shigaku Zaidan (私学財団).
Duties[]
PAs are responsible for:
Responding to inquiries from JET participants and contracting organizations
Relaying information from CLAIR and the Prefectural Office
Planning and executing training seminars and orientations for JET participants and contracting organization supervisors
Keeping and handling records
Maintaining strict confidentiality and ethics
As JETs encounter issues with either their daily life or workplace in Tokyo, it is the duty of the PA to provide either direct assistance or to offer appropriate resources.
In general, it is strongly recommended that JETs attempt to work things out directly with their school, fellow teacher(s), and supervisorfirst, but PAs are a good resource for advice in any situation.

Public School PA: Christine[]
Hi! ヾ(^∇^)
I'm Christine, a 1st year JET CIR and the PA for Tokyo Public School JETs.
I love going out and taking photos whenever I get the chance as well as bouldering and jounalling. I'm always about at TJET and TMBoE events so hopefully we will get the chance to chat sometime!
If you are facing any issues that you have tried to solve through your school, but want additional support, please feel free to contact me via the email below.
Hello! I'm a 2nd year JET with a big love for linguistics and deep sea fish! I spend 1/3 of my time studying Japanese, 1/3, researching about my favorite fish: the coelacanth, and another 1/3, playing video games. I love answering everyone's questions and solving the many mysteries of living in a foreign country together. Send Yena or I questions through our email below for any problems you haven't been able to solve through your school / supervisor!
Hi everyone! I'm one of the two private school PAs in Tokyo. Whenever I have free time, I enjoy roaming around Harajuku, goshuin hunting, drawing, going to pop-up cafes, and playing video games (not in that particular rotation). Lately, I've been on a ritual of dyeing my hair a different colour every couple of months. If you have any questions for Maiya and I, please don't hesitate to send them to us!
